How Long Does Invisalign Express Take to Work?

In addition to its traditional approach to treating orthodontic issues, Invisalign also offers a special product called Invisalign Express. It works in exactly the same way as traditional Invisalign, but there are some key differences to being able to qualify as a candidate for treatment. If you are advised by our Invisalign doctor that you do qualify, treatment with Invisalign Express is designed to take about six months.

 

Invisalign Express is considered an ideal option for patients with minor crowding or spacing issues. Traditional Invisalign utilizes 20-30 aligners in order to treat a typical case. Invisalign Express requires that the orthodontic issue can be treated in 10 aligners or less. Since you wear each set of aligners for two weeks at a time, that is how the six month estimate is arrived at.

 

Special considerations must be met if you hope to qualify for treatment with Invisalign Express. You must have less than 2 mm of spacing or crowding per arch, only minimal tooth rotation required, less than 2 mm of midline correction needed, and less than 1.5 mm of dental expansion needed per arch.
