If the teen do not sustain enough consistent pressure, they will not move the planned amount, meaning the treatment will likely last longer.
Furthermore, it is important for patients to keep an eye on their aligners. If one becomes lost, another will have to be ordered and made in a lab, a process which can take weeks. This can halt the orthodontic process greatly, thus extending the treatment process as a whole.
