Can I Get Veneers?

Candidacy for veneers is as wide as your ideal smile. Pretty much anyone whose teeth are at least average can get veneers. This means average in both health and appearance. Here are some criteria that can put you on the short list for veneers:

•    Teeth that are slightly below average in size, to ensure a good fit for the laminates
•    Teeth that are discolored, cracked, or worn down due to bruxism or attrition
•    Teeth with mild to moderate spacing or gapping issues

If you have a history of periodontal disease or root canal infection, our Los Angeles porcelain veneer expert may recommend you seek other treatment. This is also the case if you have teeth with severe structural damage, as those teeth may need crowns.

It helps if your smile shows six to eight teeth, as opposed to 10 or 12. A wider smile means more veneers, if you really want to fill it out. Most smile designers pinpoint a minimum of 6 teeth to start. However, you can do just one or two if you like, since veneer pricing is on a per-tooth basis.

A reminder: if you want to drastically improve the color of your smile but only want one or two veneers, you should combine your veneers with teeth whitening.
